El próximo 28 de octubre de 2007, junto a 497 Siervos de Dios de origen español, será beatificado el primer cubano, fray José López Piteira. El fraile, natural de Jatibonico, Cuba, estuvo entre los 50 agustinos fusilados en Paracuellos del Jarama por los comunistas españoles.
